<br>
<p><br>
</p>
<p><span name="intelliTxt" id="intelliTXT"><p><strong> Former police
officer Drew Peterson failed half a polygraph test about his missing
fourth wife's disappearance, according to his attorney and the author
of a new book.</strong></p>

			 <p>Peterson, the prime
suspect in Stacy Peterson's disappearance, agreed to be interviewed by
writer Derek Armstrong and take a lie detector test for the book "Drew
Peterson Exposed," Armstrong said.</p>

			 <p>"He failed half
of six questions on the Stacy Peterson polygraph," Armstrong told
FOXNews.com. "The questions he failed were directly related to the
timeline I had him create."</p>

<p>Peterson's lawyer Joel Brodsky said he doesn't like lie detector tests.</p>

			 <p>"I
don't think they're reliable," he said. "I advised him not to take
one." Brodsky said he doesn't know what conclusions can be drawn, if
any, on this polygraph.</p>

			 <p>Peterson got a "deceptive"
reading with responses about whether his wife called to say she was
leaving him (which he answered "yes" to), whether he knew where she was
(he answered "no") and whether he had seen her the night before she
vanished (he said "yes").</p>

			 <p>He got a "not deceptive"
reading when he was asked if he physically harmed his wife during the
time she disappeared (he said "no"), if he had any involvement in the
physical removal of his wife from the home the day she vanished (he
replied "no") and whether Stacy Peterson had called him to tell him
where the car was parked after she left (he said "yes")....</p>
<p><span name="intelliTxt" id="intelliTXT"><p>Armstrong says the ex-cop
acted "cold" when he spoke about Stacy Peterson, and he has released
some clips of the interview audio tapes to the media in the days since
his book hit shelves Oct. 1.</p>

			 <p>"He became very, very
cold. He appeared to be emotionless," Armstrong said. "Frankly, the
only time I got him to warm up emotionally was when he talked about
himself — and his kids."</p>

<p>In one of the excerpts, Peterson says he worries what will happen to him if his fourth wife turns out to have died.</p>

<p>"She comes up dead or something, they're going to be looking at me," he tells Armstrong. "That's got me a little concerned."</p>

<p>At another point, he says he "spent his days working cons on people" when he was a police officer.</p>

<p>Brodsky said he and Peterson are unhappy about Armstrong's decision to release some of the interview tapes.</p>

			 <p>"I'm
kind of upset about the release of the clips," Brodsky told
FOXNews.com. "We kind of look at it as a betrayal. He knows we're
disappointed."...</p></span></p>

	<p>The new book <em>Drew Peterson Exposed </em>about
the former Bolingbrook police officer and his dead third wife and
missing fourth wife is billed as a 300-page news story. And it does
have some news. </p>
<p>Peterson -- under a cloud of suspicion after
his third wife Kathleen Savio's mysterious death was finally ruled a
homicide and his fourth wife Stacy Peterson vanished nearly a year ago
-- agreed to take separate polygraph tests to address questions about
both cases.</p><p>Lee McCord -- described by author Derek Armstrong as an expert
polygrapher with 30 years experience -- administered the tests and
concluded Peterson was truthful when he said he had nothing to do with
the death of Savio.</p>
<p>But in a polygraph focusing on the disappearance of Stacy Peterson,
McCord found Peterson "deceptive" in answering three of six questions.
The polygrapher asked: "Do you know the whereabouts of your wife
Stacy?" Peterson said "no" -- a response the tester deemed "deceptive."
Peterson said "yes" to whether he got a call from his wife the night of
her disappearance. Again, McCord said that was "deceptive," and
concluded the same to Peterson's "yes" to whether he last saw his wife
at their home before going to bed after an overnight shift at work.</p>
<p>Author Armstrong, who bills himself as a journalist, author of
mystery thrillers and "marketing guru," examines the results of the
polygraph and concludes that Peterson, who has never been charged with
a crime in connection with his wives but has been described by
authorities as a "suspect" in Stacy Peterson's disappearance, would not
have harmed his wives.</p>
<p>At one point, he describes Peterson as an enigma -- but not a killer.</p>
<p>He backs that assertion with Peterson's own hour-by-hour breakdown
of how he spent Oct. 28, 2007 -- the day Stacy Peterson vanished,
leaving behind their two young children. Authorities previously have
questioned the timeline Peterson gave them.</p>

called and said she left with another man and took her passport, money
and clothes. <br>
<strong>11:45 P.M.</strong>* Walks and gets Stacy's car and drives it home. <br>
<strong>MIDNIGHT</strong>* Gets home and goes to bed. <br>
<strong>AROUND 2:30 A.M.</strong>* Gets call from Bolingbrook PD telling him Cassandra Cales is filing a missing-persons report regarding Stacy <br>*

The new evidence and contents of the book remain under strict embargo until October 1, 2008, when the key points will be revealed on national television in an exclusive breaking interview.<br><br>October 28, 2008 marks the one year anniversary of Stacy Peterson’s disappearance. Drew Peterson has not read the book and was quick to accept an invitation to respond to the book’s findings on National Television, scheduled for September 30, 2008.<br><br>“For months we’ve guarded the contents of <em>Drew Peterson Exposed</em>, working under strict non-disclosure agreements,” said author Derek Armstrong. Conflicting witness accounts, false leads, widespread rumors, and red herrings that have dogged the case are analyzed and 140 photographs and documents (including many private family photos published here for the first time) go beyond the headlines to the heart of this sensational story. Kunati is one of today's most innovative independent publishers. Its principals pioneered book trailers and blog tours and they foster an open partnership with authors who enthusiastically participate in marketing their books through blogs, book signings, interactive online events and social marketing. Kunati currently has several movie deals in the works, and its roster of authors includes Pulitzer Prize-winner John E. Mack, popular thrillers such as <a href="http://www.kunati.com/madicine/"> <em><span class="caps">MAD</span>icine</em></a> and <a href="http://www.kunati.com/hunting-the-king-peter-clenott/"><em>Hunting the King</em></a>, real crime sensations, memoirs, and even a bestselling tarot deck in <a href="http://www.kunati.com/quantum-tarot/"><em>Quantum Tarot</em></a>, and the forthcoming <a href="http://www.kunati.com/touchstone-tarot/"><em>Touchstone Tarot</em></a> from the bestselling Kat Black. </p> <p>The award was kept &quot;top secret,&quot; Kunati Publisher <a href="http://www.kunati.com/our-publishers-blog/"> Derek Armstrong</a> said. &quot; We had no idea this award was in the works. We were surprised and delighted at the recognition, and credit most of our success to our authors.&quot; </p> <p>Victoria Sutherland explained the rationale for this important award: &quot; The convergence in the industry led to the independent press community, where interesting and extraordinary moments still happen because creativity and provocativeness are allowed to flourish without beaucratic overhead. We felt those publishers should be recognized for their vitality and entrepreneurialism in spite of overwhelming odds not to get involved in the business. And who better to recognize them than the magazine created to cover them exclusively?&quot; </p> <p>Kunati has been called &quot;a publisher to watch&quot; by Booklist and &quot;impressive&quot; by Publishers Weekly for innovative marketing, stunning book covers, daring online initiatives and very provocative and controversial titles. &quot; We hope the Independent Publisher of the Year award will inspire other innovative small presses to take on debut authors, fight for good memoirs and fiction, and challenge readers with provocative non-fiction,&quot; said Armstrong. </p> <p><strong>&nbsp;About Kunati</strong></p> <p><font><font size="2" face="Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif" color="#8f7c57" style="color: rgb(143, 124, 87); font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">Kunati Books has been described as &quot;a publisher to watch&quot; by <span class="caps">ALA'</span>s Booklist and &quot;what a publisher looks like if the marketing department runs things&quot; by Quill and Quire.
